From Employee to Owner. From Workshop to Legacy.
Karakulia Weavers was founded in 1979 in the coastal town of Swakopmund, Namibia, with a simple but powerful mission: to create meaningful employment in the community through the art of carpet weaving.
Moses Helao began his journey on the workshop floor, learning every stitch and technique from the ground up. Through decades of dedication, craftsmanship, and an unshakeable belief in his team, Moses rose from employee to sole proprietor, carrying the legacy of Karakulia into its next chapter.
Today, the workshop hums with the rhythm of over 15 skilled artisans, each one a Namibian carpet craft expert, transforming raw Karakul wool into works of art that find homes across the globe.
